30DBJ: Day Five

Your favorite quote:

Stanley: [believing that Ryan is after his 8th grade daughter] "That little girl is a child, I don't want to see you sniffing around her anymore this afternoon, you understand?
Ryan: Yes sir, yes...
Stanley: Boy, have you lost your mind, 'cuz I'll help you find it. What you looking for, ain't nobody gonna help you out there. Jesus could come through that door and it's not gonna help you if you don't stop sniffing after my child."
from The Office

I saw this episode the other day, and when Stanley said this quote, I just started cracking up laughing! Thought I would share...

30 DBJ: Day Four

Your favorite book
"Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers

Amazon.com Review "In this splendid retelling of the biblical story of Hosea, bestselling author Francine Rivers pens a heartbreaking romance between a prostitute and the upright and kind farmer who marries her; the story also functions as a reminder of God's unconditional love for his people."
I LOVE this story!!! It helped me realize how much God loves me, no matter what, and what kind of guy I wanted to marry. A guy like Michael Hosea. There aren't many of them out there, but I'm glad I found mine :)

Getting out of the house!

So, yesterday, I needed to get out of the house. I was a little stir crazy. My husband happens to work a shorter shift at the coffee shop on Thursday's, 2-6 pm, so I packed the diaper bag, got dressed, and we went to South Austin. We left a little early so he could show me the NEW place, where he is going to open a coffee stand. It's REALLY nice, and I'm SUPER excited about it!!! Then his hours will be M-F 6 am- 4pm. After checking the place out, we then went to the current coffee shop, and Josiah and I just hung out there for the most part. I was even able to take Josiah to my old work place. They LOVED seeing Josiah, and I got to drink a decaf Wintermoon....YUM! Although next time, I'm getting the shake :) We ended the night with some Torchy's Tacos (Fried Avocado please) and then went to see one of the youth students do some martial arts stuff. I'm so glad Josiah and I were able to get out and about...I really needed it, and I think Josiah enjoyed the new scenery.

30 DBJ: Day Three

                                                                   Your favorite telivision program
                                                                               "Lost"

I started watching this show on DVD with my sister-in-law one Summer, and we were hooked instantly! It would be 1 am, and we would be like, "Just one more episode", until 3 am, when we REALLY had to go to bed. "Lost" also helped to start my relationship with my husband. The first night we hung out, we ended up watching the Season 4 finale together, because I hadn't seen it. I'm sad this show is now over :( I guess it was best for them to go out while they were still on top. I will miss you "Lost"!

I saw this movie for the 2nd time with my husband, and I think what I REALLY love about this movie is the music. The story is good too...but everytime I hear the music, especially the main song, "Falling Slowly", I get the chills  :)

Growth spurts

Today has been a much better day than yesterday. All day yesterday, our little man just wanted to eat ALL the time. NOTHING would calm him down except the food I have. Luckily I can never run out, but it was a rough day. Today, he's back to eating every 2-3 hours, which is nice for mommy. But, I'm sure there will be more days like yesterday ahead of us. His next Dr.'s visit will be when he is 2 months old, which is about 3 weeks away, so then we will really know how much he has grown.

Tonight, Grammy will be watching him so I can help my husband out at youth group. We don't have many younger people in our church, so he needs all the help he can get. These kids have been kind of tough to handle, but my husband handles them well. Until later...

5 weeks Post Partum

As a new stay at home mom, I thought one fun thing I can begin is blogging. I used to have another blog, but I never kept up with it. Now, that I am a stay at home mom, I thought it would be fun to start blogging again about the fun things my little one does, or just random stuff in my life. So, I thought I would begin with some fun stuff from yesterday:

Monday's are my husband's day off right now, and so we enjoy some family time, and I usually can get out of the house for a bit. Well, I decided after 9 months of NOT cutting my hair, it was time to cut it off. So, I pumped a bottle for my husband to give to our son, and went to get my hair cut. What can I say...I LOVE my new haircut!!!!  The lady cut it short and thinned it out and layered it and it's REALLY awesome!!! Best part is I only paid $10 for the haircut (w/a coupon)!

Earlier that morning, my husband was holding our son, and our son began to get fussy. My husband asked him, "What do you want?" and as clear as any 5-week old he goes, "Ma ma" and my husband and I both start laughing and I reach out for him and go, "Awwww!" and take him to feed him. I'm sure it was just coincidence, but it was cute, and we REALLY wish we had that on video.

At this age, our son is smiling more and cooing alot. It's really cute! :) Again, I will try and keep this blog more updated than my previous. Until later...
