7in7 Journey

I just want to thank everyone who stopped by to listen to my songs. Yes, I know song 7 is still yet to be recorded. I just wanted to take the time to talk a little bit about my 7in7 journey.

It definitely was 7 days I was STRETCHED! I feel like I grew some as a songwriter. Yes, I am an amateur, but many of my friends and family commented on how great the songs were, which gave me confidence.

I feel like this is something God has given me the gift to do, at least writing. And for me, it is a great outlet to express myself. My husband has encouraged me to try and write one song a week. I told him I would definitely need a break after 7in7! My brain was literal mush after those 7 days (which is why I'm writing my post about it NOW, instead of then).

I'm not sure if I will participate in 7in7 next year, but I DO know I will continue to pursue songwriting.

7in7 Day 7

I wasn't even looking

Today was very hard. I had writer's block until about 7 pm. Then I just started writing about my writer's block, as the first two lines show...and WA-LA! God is awesome! I will persevere and finish strong!!! Will post audio Thursday 11-16-11.

James 1:22-25 was on my heart today. So, I decided it would be great to make a song out of it for my 7in7 challenge. I only know a little bit of piano, chords & notes, so sorry all my songs are just chords and me singing. Hopefully, you still get the idea. Time to rest for tomorrow!

7in7 Day 1

I was so excited because today's song came easy. Then I figured out the chords and stuff, but am having a hard time trying to record it. I could use the Sound Cloud App on my Iphone, but because the phone microphone is terrible for phone calls, I can only imagine what my song would sound like. I may go buy something to plug the piano into the computer, which will definitely help me. We'll see.  Time to rest! Night!

The Haircut

I FINALLY was able to get a haircut yesterday. I called the salon I always go to, but the stylist who did my hair last time had left :(

So, I ended up scheduling with someone different at 6pm, since my husband wouldn't be home til 5pm, and I had to make time to get there with traffic and such.

The guy who did my hair was really nice and did a GREAT job! He gave me his business card, which is good, because if he leaves that place, I can still contact him and get my hair done.

Of course it is styled in that pic, so I'm hoping it will still look good in its natural wavy state.

After the haircut, I ate dinner at Torchy's Tacos. I was really glad to find out they had a location closer to us! I told my husband our next date night, we will have to eat there.

On a different note, tomorrow begins my 7in7 journey. I'm REALLY excited/nervous. Again, I will be posting my songs on this blog, so stay tuned.
