30 DBJ: Day Twenty-four

Where I Live

TEXAS

The GREATEST state in the USA! I was born and raised here, so I've known nothing else. The first time I traveled outside of Texas was when I was 11, I think. We went to Florida to visit my 2nd oldest brother, Mark, who was living there going to flight school. I remember falling in the Gulf because I was staring at my feet in the sand with the water rushing around it, and I guess it kind of made me dizzy and I fell! LOL!
The craziest thing about Texas is you can travel for hours and hours and never leave the state!
I grew up in a small town called Wimberely. It used to be a one stoplight town, but that has changed.
I went to college in Nacogdoches, TX (Stephen F. Austin State University; Axe 'Em Jacks!) It is a very beautiful small town, and I felt like a person there, not a number.
Now I live in Round Rock, TX where there is literally a "round rock" for which the town was named after. Weird? I love Round Rock because I have family here, and its close enough to Austin to go party! Oh, wait I don't party...but I do like to go to some of the live music shows they have downtown.

  1. You are so right when you said Texas is the best state! I have been to several other states, but nothing compares to Texas. Texas born, Texas raised, and Texas when I die.

  2. Texas is okay as far as states go, but I must confess that there are states that I'd rather live in. I love those states that actually have seasons. They are amazingly beautiful in the fall. Truth is..home is where my family is no matter what state I am in.
